Most of the shops I go to don't know what the others are doing either. Then again there are very few "comic shops" around most are collectibles oriented, it's been a long time since I've walked into a store that sold comics but not sports memorabilia. As you mentioned comic shops are all competitors for a smallish market, I really wouldn't expect too much of a combined effort in the near future. I've always been pleasantly surprised at how much camaraderie there is between dealers at conventions but I don't see it extending to the shops themselves. At least not here in good old Queens New York.

Chuck, what's your store in Queens? I'm in Astoria but usually come into the city to pick up my books.

Chuck: You're right in that I'm pretty spoiled to have so many good comic shops so close by. In retrospect, the whole "Taste of Seattle" type restaurant thing for comic shops is pretty pie in the sky, especially since a lot of even hardcore fans probably wouldn't want to go to as many as five shops in a day.
Still, some cooperation on FCBD doesn't seem completely far-fetched for towns with multiple shops that are not too far away from each other, since the goal in general is to get new people reading comics. Maybe just something like if you go to two or more stores, you would get a card stamped and entered into a raffle for tickets to the upcoming Batman movie (fostering some synergy between the movies and the comics) or even just a white elephant item.

Hello,
I went to the Comics Dungeon. You didnt mention that they had a 0 off sale on trades and P off sale on back issues. Those are huge discounts for a brick and mortar store. I bought like 5 trades. They wre very generous.
