Dr. Doom hears a J. Jonah Jameson's news broadcasts regarding the menace of Spider-Man. Jameson offers a $1,000 reward to anyone that can disclose his true identity. Dr. Doom had just recently been defeated by the Fantastic Four and thinks that Spider-Man would make an excellent ally for revenge against the FF.
