Noshin confronts Kubban, who has killed Okko in a duel. As punishment, Kubban hangs Noshin upside down at the Thunder Bell. Lady Mayudama cannot order Kubban to leave the region because he has a scroll granting him free passage from Daimyo Kuraki Ataku. The young boy takes Okko's body to the palace where Lady Mayudama orders her healers to do whatever they can.
