Entering Cancertown to rescue a homeless man named Razor, Morley discovers the Corpsegrinder, a major player in Cancertown politics, in a state of distress. The Corpsegrinder grows in size in response to others' fear of him, and Morley finds him in his most terrible form. Psychologically incapable of fearing for his own life, Morley extracts the cause of the Corpsegrinder's current state - a terrified man left stranded in Cancertown. Leaving the Corpsegrinder's turf with the stranger, Morley finds Razor in the hands of another Cancertown player - the sinister, deadly Crosshair...
